Hurricane Laura’s path of destruction along the Gulf Coast | Photos

Hurricane Laura made landfall as a devastating Category 4 storm on the coast of Louisiana near the Texas border before dawn Thursday, Aug. 27. Laura is possibly the strongest storm to hit Louisiana since 1861. The storm surge that Laura pushed ashore caused widespread destruction, and the governor of Louisiana said anybody who stayed on the immediate coast during landfall very likely didn't survive.
