November 30 in 1967 the city was caught by a surprise snowstorm. The headline in The Sun on Dec. 1 read, "Near Record November Snowfall catches City Without Its Plows." This storm did break a record for November snowfall at 8.4 inches, which still stands today.

The Weather Bureau had predicted "some snow and sleet in the morning changing to rain in the afternoon." The reason given for the heavy snowfall "an expected supply of warmer air" failed to materialize.

No snow is in the forecast for today, but temperatures could be about 10 degrees or more below the normal high of 51.
