One killed, two critical after crash amid strong storms

One person was killed and two others critically injured in a crash near border of Baltimore and Harford counties amid a line of severe thunderstorms Saturday night.

The crash, on Belair Road in Kingsville, was reported around 10:30 p.m., according to Baltimore County authorities. Few details were immediately available, but one was killed and four others injured.

A tornado warning was called and later lifted for parts of the Baltimore area, with flash flooding possible overnight, according to the National Weather Service. A flash flood watch was in effect until Sunday morning.

The strong storms downed trees, flooded roads and knocked out power to 12,000 residents across the region, according to Baltimore Gas and Electric.

The Bay Bridge was closed in both directions for tractor-trailers at 10:30 p.m. due to high winds. Cars and pickups were allowed to cross.

In the immediate aftermath of the storm cell, a house fire was reported in the 1300 block of N. Rolling Road in Catonsville. It was quickly contained.

There were also reports of flooding in Southeast Baltimore and numerous downed trees, including one that blocked two lanes of southbound Interstate 83 near Exit 74.

Showers and thunderstorms are also expected on Sunday before it becomes mostly sunny with a high of 90 degrees.
