Temperatures in the Baltimore region will remain cooler on Thursday, with cloudy skies and highs expected in the upper 70s, according to the National Weather Service.
Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport dropped to 62 degrees early Thursday morning, just three degrees above the record low for July 25 in Baltimore.
Low humidity in the air is meanwhile a far cry from the thick blanket of mugginess the region suffered through last week. Dew points fell as low as 50 degrees Wednesday night at BWI, compared with dew points in the mid- to upper-70s a week ago. Anything above the mid-60s brings perceptible moisture in the air.
Tonight, clouds will persist, with temperatures dropping into the lower 60s, the weather service said.
More sun is expected on Friday, with highs in the lower 80s.
On Saturday and Sunday, temperatures are expected to reach the mid-80s, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Those storm chances could come along with a slight uptick in humidity, with dew points back to the upper 60s. That is still well below the worst of a muggy Baltimore summer.
