Monday forecast: Partly sunny, high near 71

The National Weather Service was calling for Monday to be partly sunny in the Baltimore area, with a high near 71 and northeast winds between 5 and 7 miles per hour becoming southerly.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. Monday for the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay and along the tidal Potomac River.

Monday night was expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 62 and south winds between 6 and 9 miles per hour. There is a 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 3 a.m.

Tuesday's high will be near 77 and south winds around 7 miles per hour. It is expected to be cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms also possible after noon.

Clouds will continue into Tuesday night, with a low around 65 and south winds around 5 miles per hour or less. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m. and then a slight chance of showers between 9 p.m. and midnight.
