The Baltimore region is in for another day of temperatures in the 90s before the weekend brings cooler weather.
Friday’s high is expected to be near 92 degrees, the National Weather Service said, with a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in the evening. The chance of rain is 30%, with a low near 77.
The weather service issued a heat advisory for the region from noon to 8 p.m. Friday. The heat index, which measures what the temperature feels like to the human body when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature. could reach 105 to 108 degrees.
In addition, Baltimore City will also be under a Code Red Extreme Heat Alert at the direction of Dr. Letitia Dzirasa, the health commissioner.
Temperatures this week reached highs of 95 Tuesday, 97 Wednesday and 98 Thursday with evening thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday.
A cold front will swing through the region over the weekend, bringing expected high temperatures of 88 Saturday, 79 Sunday and 80 Monday.
