The National Weather Service declared a Hazardous Weather Outlook across the region, with potentially severe thunderstorms, "locally damaging wind gusts" and hail expected Tuesday.
"Scattered thunderstorms are expected Tuesday," the weather service said. "A few thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours may become severe with locally damaging wind gusts and large hail being the primary threats."
On Sunday, the weather service called for severe weather on Monday, but later revised the forecast. Thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon, but are not expected to be severe.
The weather outlook is for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, the Potomac River and the adjacent areas, including Southern Baltimore, Prince Georges, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Mary's, Calvert and Southeast Harford counties.
While the weather outlook only lasts through Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast through Friday; they're expected to clear up by the weekend.
