A coastal flood advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. Friday for the shoreline in Southern Baltimore County and Baltimore City.
Tidal flooding may cause up to a foot of inundation above ground level, especially around high-tide times, according to the National Weather Service.
“Water covers the promenade in the Inner Harbor in multiple locations,” NWS said. Flooding is happening at the end of Thames Street at 3.5 feet, and water encroaches on yards in the Bowleys Quarters area at 3 feet.
The tidal departure is expected to be up to 1.6 feet above normal at Northwest Branch Patapsco River and Chesapeake Bay at Bowleys Quarters, NWS said.
The affected high tide is ongoing and travelers should allow extra commute time since some roads may be closed.
“Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property,” NW said.
