Storm could bring light snow, ice and gusty winds

A storm moving up the Atlantic coast brought cold drizzle Tuesday, and was expected to bring chances for light snow or ice and gusty winds on Wednesday.

Almost half an inch of rain fell at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport from late Monday night through Tuesday afternoon. A winter weather advisory for Carroll County was canceled early Tuesday afternoon, after freezing rain brought a thin glaze of ice in some areas of northern and western Maryland.

Winds of 15-25 mph were forecast to arrive by Tuesday night and continue through Wednesday.

A 40-50 percent chance of light snow or a wintry mix is forecast Wednesday, on the back side of the storm moving through New England. Less than an inch of snow accumulation, if any, is expected.

Dry, cold weather is forecast Thursday, with highs in the lower 40s, cloudy skies and lingering 10-20 mph winds.

More clouds and highs around 40 are forecast Friday.
