Wind chills in 30s, clouds forecast Monday

Wind chills around freezing and cloudy skies are forecast Monday in the Baltimore area.

Overnight lows were forecast in the mid-30s, rising to about 40 degrees midday. Breezes around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph are expected to make to feel like the lower 30s.

Mostly cloudy skies are forecast throughout the day.

Colder air is expected to move in, with lows dropping to the mid-20s Monday night into Tuesday. Highs Tuesday are forecast around 40 degrees, but with wind chills in the 20s and 30s.

Lows Tuesday night into Wednesday are again forecast in the mid-20s, with temperatures expected to be slightly below freezing at midnight on New Year's Eve.

Calmer winds with air temperatures in the 30s are forecast for New Year's Day, with partly cloudy skies.

A chance of a wintry mix or snow could come Thursday into Friday, with lows dropping into the teens by Friday night.
