Watch the International Space Station fly over this week, with a new Marylander on board.
There are three good chances: Look to the southwestern horizon at 6:18 p.m. Tuesday, 5:28 p.m. Wednesday, and 5:24 p.m. Friday. In each case, it will be moving steadily toward the northeast over a matter of several minutes.
It appears more brilliant than the stars, but more distant than a plane, and on a clear night is easy to spot.
Cockeysville native Reid Wiseman is no longer on board, having returned about a month ago. But another NASA astronaut who calls Maryland home replaced him -- Columbia native Terry Virts has been on board about two weeks now.
