A total solar eclipse occurs Friday, but it won't be visible from Baltimore. You can stream it live online, though.

The Slooh Community Observatory will broadcast views of it starting at 4:30 a.m. The moment of greatest eclipse is at 5:45 a.m.

Not many people will be able to see the eclipse with their own eyes -- it will move across the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and across the Arctic. But the Faroe Islands, a small chain between Norway and Iceland, will be closest to the point of greatest eclipse.

Most of Europe will meanwhile see a partial eclipse.

The United States won't have a view of a total solar eclipse until Aug. 21, 2017.
