Severe weather passed through the region Thursday night but largely spared Baltimore.
A thunderstorm rolled through the city between 8:30 p.m. and midnight, according to the National Weather Service. But the worst of the storms stayed south and west of Baltimore, landing on Washington, D.C. and northern Virginia.
Six-tenths of an inch of rain fell at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport overnight. Fifty-five flights were canceled there yesterday, according to FlightAware.com, and 111 fights were delayed.
There were no reports of flooding, hail, severe winds, or tornadoes in the Baltimore region.
Baltimore Gas and Electric reported one power outage overnight that affected several hundred people in Anne Arundel County. Power was restored there quickly, BG&E said.
Weather forecasts expect scattered showers in Baltimore Friday to give way to sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s this weekend.
