Harford, Carroll and northern Baltimore counties are under a dense fog advisory Thursday morning, but that is expected to give way to mostly sunny skies and temperatures topping 60 degrees.
The National Weather Service is calling for the foggy conditions through 8 a.m. The morning could see some showers, with a 20 percent chance of rain, but the day is expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the lower 60s.
A small craft advisory is in effect for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay and the tidal Potomac River region through 5 p.m. Thursday.
Thursday night, a chill is expected to return with lows in the mid-30s. Friday's highs are expected to reach the lower 50s.
Rain is in the forecast for the weekend, with showers starting late Friday and continuing into Saturday morning.
