Baltimore's hottest temperatures in eight months are forecast Tuesday, with highs expected to approach 90 degrees.
Patchy fog and lows in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees are forecast in the early morning.
Fog and clouds are expected to clear out by mid-morning, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 80s throughout the day. Temperatures could reach the upper 80s by midday.
Blustery winds are forecast, with 15-20 mph breezes and 25 mph gusts.
Temperatures last hit 89 degrees at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, the point of record for Baltimore, on Sept. 11, 2014. They last topped 90 degrees on Sept. 6 of last year.
Humidity is forecast to be on the decline amid the heat, however, as a cool front moves through the region. High temperatures are expected to drop 20 degrees from Tuesday to Wednesday, with seasonable highs around 70 degrees and plenty of sunshine Wednesday and Thursday.
Showers and thunderstorms with highs in the 70s are forecast Friday and Saturday.
