Heat, humidity and storms forecast this week in Baltimore

A muggy, stormy week is forecast for the last week of May in Baltimore, with highs pushing 90 degrees and frequent thunderstorm chances.

A repetitive weather pattern is expected through the weekend, with highs in the upper 80s, some clouds and storm chances each day.

Increasing humidity is forecast through the week, with dew points in the mid to upper 60s making it feel sticky and uncomfortable.

There is what is known as a Bermuda high off the Atlantic coast, pumping hot and humid air up from the Gulf of Mexico. Unseasonable heat and humidity is forecast for most of the eastern half of the country.

The heat is about 10 degrees above normal, continuing a warm trend throughout May. Through Sunday, the average temperature at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is 5 degrees above normal.
