High pressure over the region is forecast to bring clear, sunny skies, with cooler air keeping temperatures in the 50s most of the day Thursday.
Overnight lows were forecast in the 40s, rising to around 60 degrees in the afternoon. Mostly sunny skies are expected throughout the day.
That pattern is expected to continue into Halloween on Friday, but unsettled weather will return late Friday night. Partly cloudy skies and highs around 60 are forecast during the day, with temperatures mostly in the 50s for trick-or-treaters.
Shower chances are expected by late Friday night, continuing into Saturday, along with a surge of colder air.
Highs Saturday are forecast in the mid-50s, but wind chills are forecast to dip into the 30s by Saturday evening as a 20-25 mph northerly wind blows in. Some snow flurries are possible at higher elevations.
Wind chills could remain in the 30s throughout Sunday, with highs only in the mid-40s, lows close to or below freezing, and a 15-20 mph wind from the northwest.
