Temperatures are forecast to surge into the mid-80s Monday and Tuesday in a burst of summer-like heat, but without the high humidity that can make July and August so uncomfortable.
Mostly sunny skies are forecast Monday with a slight breeze from the south pumping in hot air. The morning was forecast to start off in the mid-60s, rising about 20 degrees by late afternoon.
Dew points are forecast in the lower 50s, lower than levels in the 60s that can make summer days feel sticky and uncomfortable.
Highs are again expected to reach the mid-80s Tuesday afternoon, possibly fueling afternoon thunderstorms. Humidity could be slightly higher Tuesday, with dew points closer to 60 degrees.
Storm chances could linger into Wednesday morning.
Highs are forecast in the mid- to upper-70s Wednesday through the end of the work week, with partly cloudy skies.
