A severe storm watch across Central Maryland was canceled a few hours before its 7 p.m. expiration, after a band of storms brought some damaging winds to northern Baltimore County.
The watch included all of the Baltimore region, including Baltimore City and Carroll, Baltimore, Harford and Anne Arundel counties.
Heat and humidity across the region were building instability in the atmosphere, according to the Storm Prediction Center. There was a threat for storms from the Washington, D.C., region northward into New England.
