Wind gusts as strong as 60 mph downed trees across the region late Wednesday morning, including two that were sent crashing into homes.
Around 11 a.m., callers to 911 reported trees that had toppled onto homes in Cockeysville and Essex, according to the National Weather Service.
A downed tree was also blocking the Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail in Glencoe in northern Baltimore County.
Wind gusts exceeding 40 mph were reported on the water up and down the Chesapeake Bay. The strongest was 62 mph, reported seven miles south of Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Most of the Baltimore region was placed under a severe thunderstorm warning from about 10:45 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. The warning covered Carroll, Baltimore and Harford counties and Baltimore City.
