While some rain showers could dampen demonstrations to end the week, pleasant weather is forecast over the weekend for a protest in which thousands could march in West Baltimore and downtown.
Many watched as rain showers approached the region last Saturday, hoping they would help disperse crowds when a protest over the death of Freddie Gray turned violent. But the rain never reached downtown.
Some rain showers are likely Thursday afternoon and evening, though they are expected to be light, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters expect perhaps a quarter of an inch of precipitation.
Scattered showers could continue into Friday morning, and a northerly flow of cool air is expected to drop temperatures, with highs in the upper 50s.
Saturday, when the group Black Lawyers for Justice and other groups are planning to rally across the city, dry conditions and mild temperatures are forecast. The weather service predicts highs in the upper 60s and partly to mostly cloudy skies.
