Baltimore has already experienced plenty of heat this summer, but get ready for the August humidity.
Oppressive levels of humidity are forecast to be in the air Thursday through Sunday as a flow of moist air moves in from the south and southwest.
Temperatures aren't forecast to be all that hot, relative to long stretches in the mid- and upper-90s last month. Highs could reach 90 degrees Thursday and the lower 90s Friday through Sunday.
But dew points are forecast to be at their highest of the summer. The dew point is a measure of how cool the air would have to be for the moisture it contains to condense onto grass, cars and windows.
Dew points of around 70 degrees are noticeable and common during the summer months, including during last month's heat wave. But from Thursday through Sunday, they are expected to hover around 75 degrees, a level reached here relatively rarely.
That humidity could make otherwise bearable highs in the lower 90s make it feel as hot as 103 degrees Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
