Despite this morning's fog and dampness, there wasn't much rain to speak of overnight Monday. That has a deficit for the month only growing.
Officially, 0.05 inches of rain fell, as tallied at BWI Airport. Some parts of the region saw a little more.
Volunteer precipitation-counting network CoCoRaHS reported more than a quarter of an inch in western Howard County, nearly three-quarters of an inch near Westminster and an inch and a half in northern Frederick County.
Officially, Baltimore has tallied 1.01 inches of rain so far this month. Normal for the month is 3.9 inches, so barring a monsoon at the end of the month, we could be in one of the driest months of March in recent history. Baltimore totaled 2.07 inches of rain in 2009 and 0.18 inches in 2006.
It's certainly a diversion from the past two years, with nearly 5 inches in 2011 and 5.53 inches in 2010.
