Heat index in mid-90s, storm chances again Thursday

One more day with temperatures approaching 90 degrees, high humidity and thunderstorm chances is in the forecast for the Baltimore area Thursday, before cooler and drier air arrives for the weekend.

Highs downtown are forecast around 90 degrees. Dew points are expected in the lower 70s, making the air feel more like 95 degrees in the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms are possible throughout the day.

Friday is forecast to feel significantly cooler. Dew points are forecast to drop to the upper 50s or lower 60s, breaking a streak of humid days, with temperatures reaching the mid-80s.

Highs are forecast in the mid-80s Saturday and Sunday, as well, with humidity gradually increasing again.
