Temperatures slowly dropped from the lower 40s into the upper 30s overnight, and continued to fall after sunrise. Gusty winds of 20-30 mph are forecast to make it feel like the upper 20s despite sunny skies. As of 10 a.m., it was 38 degrees at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport with winds up to 38 mph making it feel like the upper 20s.
Wind chills are forecast to drop into the lower 20s after sundown, with lows in the mid-20s Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Snow is likely Tuesday morning, with 1-2 inches of accumulation expected in Baltimore. Calmer winds are forecast, though wind chills will still be in the 20s throughout the day Tuesday. Slightly higher accumulations are forecast for Carroll County and northern Baltimore County, with 2-3 inches possible.
Starting Wednesday, temperatures may not rise above freezing until the weekend, with highs in the 20s and lows in the teens for a couple of days. Wind chills are forecast in the single digits Wednesday and Thursday nights.
