The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory Tuesday morning for the Baltimore area, with snow, sleet and freezing rain in the forecast.
The NWS is warning that patchy ice is likely on surfaces early this morning, and that temperatures will remain at or below freezing across the region.
The advisory, for Baltimore City and Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Howard and Harford counties, cautioned drivers that the wintry mix overnight could leave a trace of ice and cause untreated roads to be slippery during the morning commute. Motorists are warned to reduce speed and use caution.
Temperatures should continue to be frigid, topping out at 40 degrees at 3 p.m. before dropping back into the 30s Tuesday night, the weather service said.
