More sun, less wind, same frigid temperatures in Tuesday forecast

Tuesday is expected to be sunny — but freezing — all day.

The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures slowly climbing from the teens in the morning to 30 degrees by 2 p.m. and hanging right below the freezing point overnight.

With a high-pressure system directly overhead, winds should be much less severe than the gusts that blew up to nearly 40 mph on Monday. They're forecast to be steady throughout the day, just below 10 mph.

Baltimore's skies should be clear all day, with the next chance of any rain or snow on Thursday, the weather service said.
