Monday should be cold and mostly clear, with temperatures in the 20s through most of the day, according to the National Weather Service.
Wind gusts of up to 26 mph in the morning could make it feel even colder; wind chills are expected to be in the teens. The temperatures Monday night could drop to 12 degrees before rising back into the 20s Tuesday.
The weather service warned that the sub-freezing temperatures would cause any weekend snow and ice on untreated surfaces to refreeze. The Monday commutes could be messy, and "patches of ice [are] probable," the weather service said.
The Baltimore City Health Department extended its "Code Blue" advisory through 10 a.m. Wednesday, nearly two weeks since it was declared on Feb. 12. The advisory extends hours and services at homeless shelters to protect the city's most vulnerable populations.
"In the past few days, Baltimore has experienced record-setting cold temperatures, and the forecast calls for single-digit wind chills for the next few days," city Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen said in a release. "People need to take this very seriously – it is extremely hazardous and dangerous. The weather can literally be a matter of life or death for some individuals."
Six people have died in the cold in Baltimore this year.
