Friday is expected to be cold and cloudy, with temperatures remaining below freezing until the afternoon.
But even when they break 32 degrees, it won't be by much. The high for the day is forecast to be a frigid 36 with winds up to 14 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
The weekend should be less harsh, with highs of 48 and 49 expected on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The weather service also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook Thursday night for a low-pressure system that "may bring wintry precipitation Monday or Monday night," a meteorologist said in the area's forecast discussion, depending on how a low pressure system moves through the area.
Baltimore could see snow, particularly Monday night, "if — and it's a big if — precipitation is still falling across the area," the weather service said.
