Harford man, fiancee to wed at OC Bikefest

OC BikeFest returns this week for the third year in a row and this time it's offering a somewhat softer edge: a marriage made in motorcycle heaven.

The "Two Wheel Wedding" is set for 4 p.m. at the beach on Saturday for the winners of an essay contest sponsored by Fast Lane Biker Magazine Delmarva and Barefoot Bride.

The couple, Brittany MacDonald, 25, of southern York County, Pa., and Cale McConaughey, 28, of Harford County, are receiving the full matrimonial treatment, courtesy of a wave of sponsors. The prizes include photos, tuxedo and wedding gown rental, rings, hair and makeup, flowers, cake, champagne and a reception at the 45th Street Taphouse.

"I am so excited," said MacDonald. "We had already planned to go down to be there for Bike Week." Now, the couple will be there with some 40 family and friends for a whirlwind, windswept beachside nuptials.

The wedding is just one highlight of the four-day festival but it does add some romance to the otherwise roaring rally.

OC BikeFest runs simultaneously with Delmarva Bike Week, with the former holding events at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center and at the Inlet Parking Lot and the latter offering festivities at Winter Place Park and Perdue Stadium in Salisbury.

Admission to OC Bikefest events at the convention center are free, but visitors have to pay to enter the inlet location, where live entertainment is planned all weekend, including Foghat, War, America, Three Dog Night and Ozzy Osborne and Led Zeppelin tribute bands.

The events run Sept. 12-15. A one-day pass for adults is $20. A better deal is the $25 event pass ($15 for children) that is valid for all days of the rally. Sunday is family day, with tickets $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 13-20.
