For one day, OC 'spokesguard' Rodney will run this town

Rodney, Rodney, Rodney! This Ocean City lifeguard lookalike gets all of the attention in summer so it makes complete sense that he's taking over the town - at least for a day.

Ocean City officials say the "spokesguard" - um, he's not a real member of the beach patrol - will be all about town on Tuesday, meeting visitors, posing for photos, traveling the boardwalk and even working behind the counter at Fisher's Popcorn.

Rodney's day will start early at the umbrella stand near the pier. Beachgoers can find him there from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. After that, he'll spend some time on the Boardwalk Tram, before helping out customers at Fisher's around lunchtime.

He'll also take a spin on the Ferris wheel and then hang out at BJ's on the Water for the annual canoe races in the afternoon. Like many folks, he'll end his busy day at Fager's Island.

Fans can find Rodney in OC by following along on Twitter (follow @OCMaryland) and Facebook (facebook.com/oceancity).
