Art & About in Philadelphia Hotel Package
What's the deal?
Art lovers can tour all of the Philadelphia Museum of Art's properties with this two-night package that offers two combination tickets to five attractions, including:
•Philadelphia Museum of Art, home to a large collection of Renaissance, American and impressionist art.
•Ruth and Raymond G. Perelman Building: Across the street from the art museum, this building is reserved for special exhibitions in areas such as textiles, furniture and fine crafts.
•Rodin Museum: The largest public collection of the master's works outside of Paris includes "The Thinker" and "The Gates of Hell. This contemplative space also includes formal gardens.
•Cedar Grove; One of Fairmount Park's most historic homes, the design of the interior mixes fine baroque, rococo and Federal styles.
•Mount Pleasant: Also in Fairmount Park, this historic home features the craftsmanship of some of the leading Philadelphia artisans, such as carver Martin Jugiez.
What are the savings?
More than a dozen hotels are offering the package, with rates starting at $149.50 per night. Hotel parking is included. The tickets are advertised as a $62 value. We checked weekend rates in late May at the Courtyard Marriott Philadelphia Downtown and found rates of $179 per night for A standard room and $174.50 per night for the package deal.
What's the catch?
The package is available through the end of the year.
