Baltimore man, Silver Spring man killed in boat accident

A Baltimore man and a Silver Spring man were killed earlier this week when the catamaran they were on capsized off the coast of Ocean City, U.S. Coast Guard officials said Thursday.

The men were William Gogel, 57, of Baltimore, and Fredy Fabricio-Castro, 57, of Silver Spring, according to Petty Officer David Marin, a Coast Guard spokesman.

On Monday morning, a boat named the Lori M reported the capsized 28-foot catamaran about 32 miles off the coast of Ocean City, the Coast Guard said. Two other men were rescued from the catamaran by people on another nearby boat called the Just Right Five. The survivors have not been identified by the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard is still investigating the cause of the boat's capsizing, Marin said.
