26th annual Cruisin' Ocean City car show: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. May 18-20 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 21, Roland E. Powell Convention Center & Inlet Lot, 4001 Coastal Highway and 809 S. Atlantic Ave. $10-$15; children under 14 free with an adult.


'Songs for a New World:' Brown Box Theatre presents Jason Robert Brown's song cycle, 7:30 p.m. May 20-21, Ocean City Center for the Arts, 502 94th St. Free.

Spring Movie Night: Movie TBA. Showtime 8:30 p.m., May 26, Northside Park, 125th Street on the bay; previews begin at dusk. In the event of rain, movie will be shown in the gym at Northside Park. Free. Concessions including drinks, popcorn and candy can be purchased.

Spring Arts and Crafts Show: Vendors will display garden accessories, jewelry, candles, florals, nautical items, woodcrafts and homemade items; handmade chocolates, fudge and dip mixes will also be available. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 27, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 28, Roland E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Free.


Ravens Beach Bash: Appearances by Ravens players, coaches, cheerleaders, Poe the mascot, talents from 98 Rock and Miller Lite and others. June 1-4, Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel, 10100 Coastal Highway. Free; tailgate party tickets available at hotel. Also, Ravens Roosts Parade, June 3, 10 a.m.-noon, Baltimore Avenue from 19th Street to 26th Street.

Mako Mania Tournament: 21st annual contest for catching sharks, bluefish and thresher sharks. June 2-4. Weigh-ins every fishing day, 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Bahia Marina, 21st and 22nd streets.

Ocean City Film Festival: Held for the first time, it will feature short and feature-length films, with opportunities for audiences to meet local and regional filmmakers and discuss their work. June 8-11, Ocean City Center for the Arts, 502 94th Street.

Ocean City Car & Truck Show: All kinds of vehicles, interactive displays, contests, vendors and performances for vehicle buffs. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. June 10, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. June 11, Roland E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. $20; children ages 7-11 $10; children under 7 free.

Ocean City Air Show: The Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron, the F-22 Raptor and the A-10 Warthog highlight the show's 10th anniversary. 9 a.m. June 17-18, beach and boardwalk; show center, 16th street. Tickets $22-$399; children 6-12 $14.

Firemen's Parade: Display of equipment, bands and floats wraps up the annual Maryland State Firemen's Association convention, which begins June 17. Noon until approximately 3 p.m. June 21, Baltimore Avenue from 15th Street to 32nd Street. Free.

Art's Alive: Works by 100 artists for sale, with souvenir merchandise, live music and arts activities for children. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. June 24-25, Northside Park, 125th Street. Free.

Ocean Bowl Skate Bash: Annual competition is open to kids of all ages. 2 p.m.-7 p.m. June 27, Ocean Bowl Skate Park, 3rd Street and St. Louis Avenue. Free day of skate, door prizes, music from DJ.


July 4th Concerts and Fireworks: Two choices for Independence Day: concert at 8 p.m., fireworks at 9:30 p.m., July 4, Northside Park, 125th Street; concert at 8 p.m., fireworks at 9:30 p.m., North Division Street beach. Both free.


30th Annual OC Tuna Tournament: No cans or mayonnaise here as more than 100 boats try for $500,000 in prizes. July 14-16, Ocean City Fishing Center, U.S. 50 and Inlet Isle Lane, West Ocean City. $900 to participate; weigh-ins, 4 p.m.-7:30 p.m. daily, are free for spectators.

Ocean Games: Held every year to raise funds for the Johns Hopkins Brain and Stroke Rehabilitation Program, event includes ocean races, 1-mile, 3-mile and 9-mile ocean swims and an Ultimate Flight Frisbee competition. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. July 15, Caroline Street beach.

Jesus at the Beach Music & Ministry Festival: Christian music, drama, a baptism service and other events. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. July 31-Aug. 2, Roland E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Free.

28th Annual Ocean City Greek Festival: Food, music, crafts and entertainment. Noon-11 p.m. July 28 and 29, noon 9 p.m. July 30 and 31, Roland E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Free.

White Marlin Open: More than $2 million in prizes at stake in what's called the world's largest billfish tournament. Aug. 7-11, Harbour Island Marina, 14th Street and the bay. Weigh-ins are free to spectators, 4 p.m.-9:15 p.m. daily.

Artists Paint O.C.: A Plein Air Event: Watch artists at work along the boardwalk and beaches and see them compete to finish a painting in two hours (the works are for sale, too, of course). Aug. 9-13, Ocean City Center for the Arts, 94th Street. $15-$40 to participate; free for spectators.

Capt. Steve Harman's Poor Girls Open: A women-only billfish release tournament that raises money for breast cancer research; for non-anglers, there are silent auctions, raffles, T-shirt sales and other events. Aug. 17-19, Bahia Marina, 21st and 22nd streets.

Wings and Wheels Expo: Look at private aircraft, custom cars and antique military vehicles, chat with their owners and buy food, drinks and crafts. Proceeds benefit the Huey Memorial. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 19. Ocean City Municipal Airport, 12724 Airport Road. $5; children under 12 free.

The Beach Boys: Led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, they bring their classic hits to the Ocean City Performing Arts Center, 4001 Coastal Highway, for two shows. 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 23. $49-$75.

8th Annual Ocean City Jeep Week: Fun on and off the road with more than 250 Jeeps. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 24-25, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 26 at Roland E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Beach crawl at 7 a.m. Aug. 24-27, 29th Street to Inlet parking lot. $10; two-day pass $15; three-day pass $20. Additional fee to register and participate with your Jeep.


'Hamlet': The Brown Box Theatre presents two outdoor performances of Shakespeare's tragedy. 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8, Northside Park, 125th Street on the bay; 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10, Sunset Park, South Division Street on the bay. Free.


9/11 Parade of Brothers Motorcycle Ride: Ride and memorial service commemorates the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 11, on the boardwalk from 27th Street to North Division Street. Free.

O.C. Bikefest: Lots of things that go vrooom and things that go with them, plus concerts by KIX, Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd and others. 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 14-16, 9 a.m-4 p.m. Sept. 17, Roland E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway, and Inlet Lot, 809 S. Atlantic Ave. Single-day admission $35; weekend event pass $65; age 15 and under $15.

Sunfest: 43rd year of arts, crafts, food and live entertainment. 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 21-23, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 24, Inlet Parking Lot, 809 S. Atlantic Ave. Free except for headline acts; entertainment schedule TBA.

Sunfest Kite Festival: Four days watching master kite fliers from around the world do their stuff. Sept. 21-24, 3rd Street to 6th Street Beach. Free.

13th Annual Sand Castle Home Tour: Self-guided tour of 10 beautiful homes to benefit the Art League of Ocean City. 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 22-23. $30.

Wine on the Beach: The festival features East Coast wines, regional cuisine, micro-brewed beers, arts and crafts and entertainment. 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Sept. 29-30, Inlet Lot, 809 S. Atlantic Ave. $35; $15 children ages 13-20; children 12 and under free. All children must be accompanied by an adult; no one under 21 is admitted without a parent.

Event series

100 Nights of Lights: 9 p.m.-11 p.m. May 27-Sept. 4, North Division Street and Boardwalk. This new attraction features high-powered searchlights that will move and sway to musical selections played through boardwalk speakers, changing into a variety of colors. Free.

"Play It Safe": Activities for high school graduates, May 31-June 16. Activities include karaoke, volleyball, miniature golf, tennis, kayaking, bowling, laser tag, basketball and more. Various locations; all activities free.

First Friday opening reception: At the Ocean City Center for the Arts, 502 94th St. June 2, July 7, Aug. 4, Sept. 1, 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Meet artists, see new exhibits, enjoy hors d'oeuvres. Free. July's event will include work by Maryland's first lady, Yumi Hogan.

OC Cruzers Car Display: June 4, June 18, July 16, Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Sept. 24. 2:30 p.m.-6 p.m. Owners of about 15 veteran cars will display them and educate spectators about them. Free. Music TBA. Somerset Street Plaza near Boardwalk.

Free movies on the beach: At the Carousel Hotel, 118th Street, Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. from June 7 to Aug. 30. In the event of inclement weather, movies will be shown inside the hotel. Schedule subject to change. Mondays and Fridays at 8:30 p.m. from June 26 to Aug. 11 on the 27th Street beach.

Sundaes in the Park: 7 p.m.-9 p.m., June 18, July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27, Sept. 3, Northside Park, 125th Street. Families can listen to music and make their own sundaes for a fee as they watch the sun set over Assawoman Bay, and fireworks to end the evening. Music schedule includes tributes to the Beach Boys, Elvis, Johnny Cash and Journey. Free.

Family Beach Olympics: 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Sand castle contests, tug-of-war, relay races and more. Tuesdays, June 27-Aug. 8 except July 4, on the beach at 27th Street.

Sunset Park Party Nights: 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Thursdays, July 6-Aug. 31, Sunset Park, South Division Street on the bay. Music includes rock, blues, R&B and tributes to Buddy Holly, the Beatles, Journey and Rod Stewart. Free. Beverages available for purchase. Attendees should bring their own seating.

Beach fireworks: North Division Street Beach. Mondays and Tuesdays, July 10-Sept. 4. Times TBA. Free.

Beach Dance Party, with DJ Batman: 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at Caroline Street Stage on the beach, Tuesdays, July 11-Aug. 29 except Aug. 1. Free.
