A Baltimore man visiting Ocean City was arrested and charged with assault after he allegedly pulled a knife on the victim because he would not give up a pizza coupon.
Ocean City Police said William Barrenger Whitehurst, 20, is accused of holding a knife to the neck of the victim after he refused to give him a Pizza Tugos coupon.
The incident, which was originally reported by delmarvanow.com, took place at 2004 Philadelphia Ave. early Wednesday morning. Pizza Tugos is located at 18th Street and Coastal Highway, which would be a few blocks away.
Police said after a short scuffle over the coupon, Whitehurst allegedly approached the victim from behind with the knife. The victim, Romerto Levy, said he was cut on the hand when he pulled it away from his neck.
Whitehurst was charged with first- and second-degree assault as well as reckless endangerment.
I generally prefer Ponzetti's or Dough Rollers, but if Pizza Tugos is worth all that - they do use fresh homemade dough and a "secret recipe" tomato sauce - perhaps I should give it a try.
Anybody got a coupon?
