Imagine the coolest way possible of experiencing history. Bet what you just pictured doesn't even come close to a narrated ride on a reconstructed Civil War-era train. This hour-long excursion really does exist. Hop on board the brand-new York no.17 steam train and make your way through historic Pennsylvania countryside while listening to accounts of the Battle of Gettysburg and Abraham Lincoln's experiences on these same tracks. You might even get to have a little meet-and-greet with Civil War-era musicians, generals and President Lincoln himself. Beginning June 1, the York no.17 train will run from New Freedom to Hanover Junction three times a day, Tuesday to Sunday. For tickets or more information, visit steamintohistory.com.
