Brooklyn Historical Society

Coinciding with its 150th anniversary, the Brooklyn Historical Society has two newly renovated floors at its 1881 landmark building which include galleries, a 200-seat Great Hall, retail space and a grand new entrance. One standout on view is a rare copy of the Emancipation Proclamation, signed by Abraham Lincoln in 1863 at the height of the Civil War. (128 Pierrepont St., Brooklyn, www.brooklynhistory.org)
