Following the city's April unrest, the Better Baltimore Bed and Breakfasts, a group of like-minded local B&Bs, decided they wanted to do something to help restore their community.

Rachael's Dowry B&BThe Inn at 2920 and Blue Door on Baltimore B&B plan to donate portions of their summer reservations to Baltimore City's YouthWorks jobs program, aimed at employing teens with nonprofit, private sector and local government employers.

Scarborough Fair B&B will focus its efforts on other affected local businesses and offer a deal designed to encourage spending at local establishments. Through July, guests can save $150 off of two-night stays. Scarborough owners Barry Werner and Jeff Finlay plan to encourage visitors to spend their savings at local restaurants, bars, boutiques and galleries.

Through these charitable donations, the bed-and-breakfasts hope to bring the charm back to Baltimore and help those impacted by the events and their aftermath.
