It's been two years since Anton Waters left Baltimore for Gulf Coast State College in Florida. But for the former Forest Park star, committing to Western Kentucky last week felt like a much longer time coming.
The curiosity about Bobby Rainey in Baltimore built steadily throughout August. First Ravens coach John Harbaugh singled him out for praise early in training camp. Then he scored a highlight-reel touchdown on a screen play in his first preseason game. Soon, diehard Ravens fans were asking reporters, "Who is Bobby Rainey?" But down in Bowling Green, Ky., the home of Western Kentucky University, the Ravens' diminutive rookie running back was the big man on campus.
The Ravens¿ front office has long been admired for its decision making during the draft, but Ozzie Newsome, Eric DeCosta and Company also take great pride in the work that they do in the couple of hours following its conclusion. Offensive lineman Mike Flynn and linebackers Bart Scott, Jameel McClain and Dannell Ellerbe are among the undrafted free agents that the Ravens have signed and developed into key contributors.
