Edgewood man charged in beating of another man

A man whose skull was fractured and ribs were bruised during an assault in Edgewood last week tried to ride his bike home before stopping to get help at a local fire station, police said.

Michael A. Barnes, 21, of the 800 block of Windstream Way in Edgewood, was charged Thursday with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment in connection with the assault around 3 p.m. May 11 near the intersection of Fountain Rock Way and Topview Drive.
