Out of work since not being retained as a free agent by the Ravens, former Pro Bowl center Andre Gurode worked out for the Detroit Lions this week, according to a league source.
Gurode played a reserve role with the Ravens last season after signing a one-year contract.
Gurode was signed to provide depth behind six-time Pro Bowl center Matt Birk, who had surgery on his left knee at the beginning of training camp.
Gurode was cut by the Dallas Cowboys last year for salary-cap reasons.
He visited the Seattle Seahawks, Lions and the New England Patriots before agreeing to terms with the Ravens.
