Freshmen and sophomores are playing major roles in the emergence of Centennial and Long Reach as the county's top softball teams.
Centennial and Long Reach both entered this week unbeaten, and they are scheduled to meet today at Centennial at 4 p.m.
The Eagles (8-0) are led by a pair of young pitchers, freshman Katie Hobson and sophomore Alona Lawson, each of whom has thrown a no-hitter.
Senior second baseman Michele Bosserman and sophomore third baseman Jessica Olenick have been the key hitters.
