Orioles first baseman Chris Davis' eye-popping offensive numbers continue to gain him national recognition through the first two months of the season.
Davis won his second American League Player of the Week award Monday for the week ending Sunday. He also won the same award for the opening week of the regular season.
In seven games last week, Davis led the major leagues with a .481 batting average (13-for-27) and led the AL in hits (13), total bases (26), slugging percentage (.963) and runs scored (10). His four homers last week tied Seattle’s Jason Bay for most in the AL, and his .500 on-base percentage ranked second.
