Baltimore parents charged in death of 2-year-old who ingested methadone

The parents of a 2-year-old girl who died in August after ingesting methadone have been charged with manslaughter, Baltimore Police announced.

Alvin Thompson, 25, and Sinead McNair, also 25, of the unit block of S. Exeter St., were taken into custody Tuesday. In addition to manslaughter, they face charges including child abuse resulting in death, neglect of a minor and reckless endangerment.

On Aug. 13, at around 6 a.m., police were called to University of Maryland's pediatric unit that an unconscious baby had been brought in to the hospital, police said.
