They've waited 20 months, but Redeemer Lutheran Church members finally have a full-time minister.
The Rev. Matthew Borrasso, 29, was officially installed during services at the Parkton church on Aug. 10. The Rev. James Banach, the church's pastor since 1997, retired in December 2012. The Rev. Gene Reichel, who came out of retirement to serve at Redeemer on a part-time basis, replaced Banach. But the congregation wanted a full-time minister.
After considering several candidates last year, the members took a leap of faith and said they would take someone straight out of seminary, sight unseen.
