- It was a record-setting day for Harford County athletes in the MPSSAA State Track and Field Championships in Baltimore Saturday. Brandon Chase of Edgewood won the 400-meter dash in 47.25 seconds to break the Class 2A state meet record. Jimmia McCluskey of Aberdeen set a Harford County record of 19 feet in winning the 3A girls' long jump. - The Aberdeen girls continued to gain momentum Saturday as they raced through their regional qualifying en route to the state track and field championships this week.
- The Aberdeen girls won the UCBAC track and field championship with 50 points to spare. Edgewood won the boys' title by just three points and some last-minute heroics by junior Ray King. Neither team was clearly favored to win the meet held at Elkton, May 8-9.
- It was a record-setting day for Brandon Chase in the Howard County Invitational track and field meet Saturday at Reservoir High School.
- The Fully Automatic Timing system made its Harford debut in high school track Saturday at the finish line of the Hawk Invitational at North Harford. The meet produced outstanding performances but none that required the camera system's thousandth-of-a-second precision. Many of the top performances were in the field events, far outside the camera's view.
- The Edgewood track and field team displayed exceptional speed and bounce in its opening meet at North Harford March 22. Perryville's team did so too, but with more depth, giving the Panthers a double team victory.
