The Orioles caught the right opponent at just the right time.

Adam Jones made Minnesota pay for walking Manny Machado in front of him, working a full count before lacing a two-run single into left field off Twins closer Kevin Jepsen, sending the Orioles to their third straight win, 5-3, in front of an announced 21,586 at Target Field.

The Orioles have remained steadfast in their contention that early spring results are not a predictor of future returns, but it¿s still hard to get away from the fact that they are still winless more than a week into the Grapefruit League exhibition season.

Despite hitting three home runs Sunday, including back-to-back shots in the first inning, the Orioles lost to the Minnesota Twins, 6-5, before an announced crowd of 6,914 at Ed Smith Stadium.

The Orioles will travel to Fort Myers today for a 1:05 p.m. game against the Minnesota Twins.
