- Harmony Lodge AF & AM held its annual ladies night at their lodge Saturday. More than 60 lodge members and their spouses as well as the wives of the several of the late members were honored at a dinner. The lodge members prepared a dinner of roast beef, gravy, stuffing, ham, green beans, rolls, butter, cake and ice cream, coffee and iced tea. On arrival each of the ladies received a beautiful carnation which they could carry or pin on their dress. The lodge gave out door prizes of gift

- The Rev. Eric W. Gritsch, a prominent Lutheran theologian and author whose teaching career at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, Pa., spanned more than three decades, died Dec. 29 from complications of an infection at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He was 81.
