Orioles right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez couldn't manage to get out of his own way Sunday against the Oakland Athletics, his control failing as he suffered his shortest outing in 13 starts this season.

"He went to another level there and wasn't going to give in," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of Gausman, who held the Athletics to just one run over a career-high seven innings.

The San Diego Padres' trip through Baltimore was both quick and painful for the Orioles, who dropped two interleague games to the Padres within a span of 24 hours.
