- Billy Bajema, 29, an eight-year veteran, started 25 games for the St. Louis Rams from 2009 to 2011, including 12 starts last season. - 3! 2! 1! Happy new league year! The 2012 NFL year is officially underway, and it all kicks off with free agency. All is quiet here, though. To our knowledge, the Ravens have not yet re-signed any of their 12 unrestricted free agents, a list that includes Pro Bowl guard Ben Grubbs and defensive starters Jarret Johnson, Jameel McClain and Cory Redding. The Ravens have expressed an interest in retaining those players in particular, but they have also been aware that those players might want to shop for better offers on the free agent market.
- Ravens expected to exercise patience when free agency opens Tuesday. With about $11 million of cap space, team will likely try to retain Grubbs, others before trying to make a splash.

- It's a good thing the Ravens aren't looking for a pass-catching tight end in free agency because pickings are slim. Jermichael Finley, the top free agent tight end in this year's class, won't hit the market as the Green Bay Packers re-signed him to a two-year deal last month. That leaves the Washington Redskins' Fred Davis as the top free agent at the position, but there is a chance the Redskins could use their franchise tag to keep Davis.
- Because we're officially two weeks away from free agency, Jeff Zrebiec is getting asked more and more about who will and won't return among the 13 Baltimore Ravens due to hit the open market March 13.
